The assessment settings provide a rich and flexible way of changing the behaviour and look and and feel of your assessment.

To access the assessment settings click the Edit button on the left menu and then the Settings link option.

Brainsbuilder provides a wide range of settings to help you customize your assessment in many ways.

Name and Logo

You can change change the name of your assessment and you can also choose a choose a logo.

Scoring and Navigation

This is where you choose how your assessment is scored. You can add or edit the passing grade if you assessment has one. You can also choose when to show your respondents, whether the score is showed in points or percent.

You can also control when the score or answer explanation are seen. These can be shown after each question is answered or at the end of the assessment. You can also make your assessments forward only and for the respondent to answer all questions.

OpenCorrect/Incorrect Comments

You can add correct or incorrect comments. If the question is answered correctly the correct comment is shown. If the question is answered incorrectly the incorrect comment is shown. This basically tells the user if the got was right or wrong. These comments can be shown at the end of the assessment or after the question has been answered. These are shown together with the question explanations or without explanations. The question explanations are entered on the Question Editor screen.

Final Review Comment

The final review comment is a single comment the is shown at the end of the assessment. You have ways to control how your finish comments are displayed.

Add a comment for different grade ranges This is useful for personality tests or where you want to give different feedback for different grade bands.

Add a comment passing or failing You can enter a different passing and failing final review comment.

Add a single final comment You can enter a single comment. This is the same for all respondents.

Post Assessment Emails

The post assessment email are sent after the assessment is completed. You have the same three ways as above (the same as comments) to control how your finish emails are displayed.

You can use the following tokens {score}, {emailaddress}, {key1}, {key2}, {key3} you must include the braces. These are replaced by the respective values.

Time Limits

You can set time limits for your assessments in several ways. When the respondent has run out of time he/she is prompted to move on. You can exclude timing from from survey question. You can also choose if you wish to hide or show the timing in your assessments.

Time limit for the whole assessment (minutes) The respondent has a limited time to answer all of the question in the assessment.

Time limit for each section (minutes all sections the same) The respondent has a limited time to answer all of the question in each section. This is the same for all of the assessment sections.

Time limit for each section (minutes specify for each section) This is the same as above but the time limit for each section ca be specified.

Time limit per question (seconds) The respondent has a limited time to answer each of the questions.

Availability

You can choose a start and/or end date and time when to make you assessments available.

Progress Components to Display

You can opt to show of hide various components of your assessment. Using the Show Section Instructions you can choose to show the section instructions on the first page of the section or every page of the section. The other components Question Numbering, Option Lettering and Show Progress Bar can be shown or hidden.

Buttons, Labels and Messages

These are the items of text that are displayed in your assessment. All of the items of text can be changed. This is useful for foreign language assessments etc.

Buttons These are the items of text that appear on the buttons during the assessment.

Labels These are the items of text that appear as labels to fields during the assessment.

Summary Labels These are the items of text the appear on the labels during the assessment summary.

Messages These are the feedback messages that appear during the assessment.

Error Messages These are the error messages that appear during the assessment.

Finish Link

This this the location the the respondents will go to when they they click the finish link at the end of the assessment.

Admin Email Questions

By default the application looks for the email field to set a the key fields to display in admin notification emails. This default can be overridden in this setting.

Results Filter Settings

This enables to to filter incomplete results out of your assessment results analysis.
