Create your assessment in 4 simple steps

  1. When you are ready to create a new assessment click the Create button on the left menu.

    You will be presented with the Create page. On this page you enter the the basic information to set up the rest of the create assessment process.

    You will first be presented with a page where you can enter some basic details about the assessment you wnat to create.

    1. What type of assessment are you building?

      This describes the assessment type. You can select either:

      All or some of the questions will be scored. All of the questions options for multiple choice question will have the same points and there might be a pass grade. (Exam or Graded Test)

      All or some of the questions will be scored. The questions options might have different points for multiple choice and there will NOT be a pass grade (Questionnaire or Graded Survey)

      None of the questions will be scored (Simple Survey)

      All or some of the questions will be scored. The scored questions options might have different points (usually sliding scale) for multiple choice options. Points are allocated to different categories. This enables questions from different sections have the points totalled. There will NOT be any pass grades. Categories must be set up first. NOTE: Only choose this option if you want candidates to be scored by category (Personality Test)

    2. How will candidates or respondents access the assessment?

      There are three ways in which users can access your assessment.

      Your respondents come to our site with a general assessment ID and optional general password for the assessment (this password is the same for all users). Alternatively a provide a link or your web site or a social network site such as Facebook, Twitter or LinkedIn (public or restricted access)

      Send email invites that can only be to a list of invited people. (private invite access)

      Your respondents come to our site our site with a general assessment ID. Additionally each person has a unique password, ID or email address which can be used to access the assessment. (private password access)

    3. What is the name of your assessment?

      This is the common name for your assessment. For example "The Secrets of World War Two" or "The Geography of Africa". This should be descriptive and related to the questions in the assessment.

    Then click to Continue button.

    If you have chosen Personality Test as your assessment type you will be presented with a Categories page where you can enter the categories for the personality test.

  2. You will be presented with the Login Questions page. This tells us what standard login information you would like for this assessment.

    If you would like some login information that you do not see here for example department, line manager, class etc you can add these later.

    If you do not want any login questions created you can click the Skip button.

  3. You will then be presented with the first Section page.

    You can enter the details of the first section details. When you are finished, click the Add Sections button to proceed.

    You will then be presented with the first Question page.

  4. When you have finished adding you questions and sections you can will be presented with the Publish page.

    Passing Grade if your assessment has a pass grade you can enter it here.

    If your assessment has "public" or "private password" access you will be asked to enter an assessment ID.

    Assessment ID select a unique identifier for this assessment. It must be 1-25 characters in length. For example, "MATH101" This will be used to sign into the assessment by the respondents. This ID must be unique to every assessment on the Brainsbuilder web site. If you or someone else has the assessment ID you have chosen you will be asked to choose another one.

    If your assessment has "public" access you can enter an optional assessment password to restrict access to the assessment.

    Password you can select an optional password for your assessment. It must be 5-15 characters in length. For example, "MYPASS9". This will be used to sign into the assessment by the respondents if you want your assessments to have more security.

    If your assessment has private access (either email or password) you can enter the list of candidate email addresses and unique IDs at this time.
